How to Help
Cincinnati-Covington Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) is a community of married couples from the local area who volunteer their time, providing Encounter weekends to engaged couples because they cherish marriage as a sacred covenant. The Weekend Encounter is guided by the National Engaged Encounter ministry, which is endorsed by the Catholic Diocese of Covington Office of Catechesis/Family Life. The individuals of community include all ages and lengths of marriage.

Help by Volunteering for CEE gives you a rare opportunity to both share your time and talent and renew your marriage at the same time. As a community of families and priests focused on building and maintaining healthy relationships, CEE provides an atmosphere of communication, openness and growth. CEE also provides a sense of hope and inspiration, with an opportunity to change the world in a practical and effective way: by helping couples build a strong and healthy marriage. As a 100% volunteer ministry, we could not be successful without the support of the many people who help out each retreat weekend. It takes dozens of people to put on a retreat weekend, with many couples working behind the scenes to handle business, logistics, and other critical functions.
Consider how you can help our ministry. We can use your help in the areas listed below. Read through them, decide if one of them is right for you and let us know how you want to get involved!
Become a Presenting Couple! If you attended a CEE weekend, you were introduced to the presenting team which was made up of two married couples and possibly a priest who shared some of their life stories with you. Becoming a presenting couple gives you a chance to do the same thing. If you are serious about marriage as a sacrament, and want to support and guide couples, then being a presenting couple could be for you! Our presenting teams share their lives and passion for God-centered, life-giving marriage.
One of the two married couples in the presenting team is a senior couple who has typically been married for 10 or more years. The other married couple is a junior couple who are more recently married. If you decide you would like to present, we will work with you over several months to write and practice your talks. However, you will immediately be considered part of the CEE family and will therefore be invited to all events. A large benefit for you is the opportunity to regularly be around other married couples and families who share your values and will support you as you journey through marriage. Presenting couples typically present one or two CEE weekends each year. The
Are you married in the Catholic Church, but didn't attend a weekend for your preparation and have heard of us through friends, colleagues, priests, or your parish and are looking for a new avenue to serve God as a couple and make a direct impact on His Holy Sacrament of Marriage? Then contact us to observe a weekend to see how it works and what role the presenting team plays. You will certainly be glad you did.
Become a Greeter/Welcome Couple! Do you like meeting new people and making new friends? Excellent! Consider becoming a Greeter Couple. We need help greeting couples as they arrive Saturday morning. You arrive on Saturday morning at 7:30 AM and help check the couples in, guide the couples to their rooms and show them the main areas used at the facility on the weekend. It is a chance to chat and answer their questions. Sound easy and fun? It is!
Become a Prayer Couple! During our weekends we have a couple in our community that prays for an individual couple on the weekend. This is done from home and while it may seem like a very small item, it is a very important way of helping the engaged couples on the weekend.
There are other support opportunities. Are you someone who likes to shop and plan for weekends? You might be right for helping our supply couple. Are you someone with an artistic flair? We are always in need of new banners for the weekends. Are you good with administrative task? We are looking for couples to help with our weekend registrations and cancellations, those to setup and cleanup, those willing to help with our CEE website, those to help us keep track of the finances and those to schedule and plan weekends and meetings. The bottom line is that everyone has a gift that can contribute to our community's success!
